Wehmhoff Mound

Located in Kenosha county just south of Racine/Kenosha County line (about 5 miles south of Burlington on Hwy 83), this mound is
all but impossible to find. The highway splits the mound in two. The state owns the part under highway (basically, the destroyed part),
while the remaining part of the tail and the body are on the private property. There is no markings of any sort. I believe I've found what
looks like a tail of the panther (or water spirit) on one side of the road, with undeveloped space covered with lush prairie on the other
side where the body of the effigy is supposed to be. This mound is very unusual, for there were very few effigies with curved tails,
and even fewer remain.
