Rice Lake Mounds

Of the original 51 mounds in this group, 12 conicals survived to this day. Located in the city of Rice Lake Indian Mounds Park
on the shore of Rice Lake, this group is in decent condition. Mounds are mowed, however, and few of them have large trees
growing on them. Also, being in the waterfront city park, nothing prevents people from walking over the mounds.

Just couple hundred yards down the lakeshore, there is a historical sign marking the location of old Bayfield Indian Trail -
not surprisingly, this area attracted native inhabitants generation after generation. You can read more about this park at the
