Panther Mound of Mauston
 
The actual mound is located on the shores of the Lemonweir River - the only surviving mound of the larger group. It was documented
by Charles E.Brown in1926, but then forgotten. The mound was rediscovered in 2004 by Chloris Lowe of the Ho-Chunk Nation and is
protected ever since on private property (see aerial photos above).

  The mound you see on the grounds of the Olson Middle School in Mauston (below) is a 1/2 scale replica of the original and was
